Maximum annual salary: $70,000
- Develop and deliver engaging curriculum in performing arts for grades 6–12, including classes in drama, music, and/or dance depending on area(s) of expertise.
- Direct and produce at least one school performance per year (e.g., play, musical, talent show).
- Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that celebrates diverse talents and backgrounds.
- Assess student progress through performance, participation, and portfolio-based assessments.
- Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to integrate performing arts into the broader school curriculum.
- Manage and maintain classroom materials, costumes, instruments, and technical equipment.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts, Theater, Music Education, or related field.
- Valid state teaching certification (or eligibility for certification).
- Experience teaching performing arts at the middle/high school level.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Performing Arts Education or related field.
- Experience directing student productions or performances.
- Proficiency with sound and lighting equipment, stage management, or musical accompaniment.
- Familiarity with culturally responsive teaching practices.
