Maintenance Custodian 2PM-10PM

Salary: 19 to 24/hour, depending on direct experience

The Maintenance Custodian is responsible and accountable for maintaining the building in a clean and safe condition. The Maintenance Custodian works closely with the Director of Operations, Maintenance team and the school staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Washes windows, woodwork, walls and other surfaces; scrubs and cleans restroom fixtures; replenishes tissue, towels, and soap in restrooms, kitchens and restroom facilities;
• Replaces light bulbs and fluorescent tubes; empties wastebaskets and other refuse receptables, sorts and stores material for recycling program
• Makes minor repairs to furniture or facilities;
• Reports to supervisor damages or needed repairs requiring outside attention;
• Able to perform basic maintenance on fire, security, and alarm systems;
• Scrubs, dusts, sweeps, mops, vacuums, waxes and polishes floors in rooms, hallways, and common areas;
• Turns heating and air conditioning equipment on and off;
• Moves furniture as requested and/or required;
• Use of ladders and a variety of hand tools may be required;
• Performs related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: Graduation from high school or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Meets expectations of regular, reliable attendance.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and to perform all required tasks
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Requires minimum supervision or direction.
